ABOUT

Cindy Luna, a proud descendant of the Nahuat Pipil people of El Salvador, carries the resilient spirit and sacred artistry of her ancestors. The women of her lineage, deeply rooted in the rhythms of plant medicine, dance, and ancestral wisdom, moved through life with strength, sensuality, and grace. Cindy embodies this legacy not only through her yoga teaching, but also through her vibrant creative life—she is the founder of an all-female band and a former burlesque performer, using music and movement as expressions of feminine power and liberation.

Raised during the 1980s and 1990s, Cindy faced the harsh societal pressures placed on women of color, leading to a personal struggle with body image and anorexia during her teenage years. Her healing began with therapy and reflection, eventually guiding her toward a deep reclamation of self-worth. What once felt like flaws were revealed as the scars of a culture that had attempted to silence her—and like the women who came before her, she chose to dance, sing, and speak louder.

Her journey toward healing and empowerment was profoundly transformed through the practice of yoga. It was on the mat that Cindy rediscovered her body not as an object to be shaped, but as a vessel of wisdom, strength, and sacred story. Yoga became both sanctuary and revolution—a way to remember who she truly is and help others do the same.

Today, Cindy Luna stands as a guide for feminine reclamation and spiritual awakening. She is a full-time yoga teacher based in San Francisco, teaching at two studios while also independently leading workshops and retreats. Certified in yoga, Yoga Nidra, and trauma-informed yoga for anxiety, Cindy weaves her teachings with ancestral knowledge and radical self-love. Through her classes, sound healing, and soulful presence, she inspires women to reclaim their voice, their bodies, and their joy—one breath, one movement, and one heartbeat at a time.

“What’s the greatest lesson a woman should learn? That since day one, she’s already had everything she needs within herself. It’s the world that convinced her she did not.”
